I had the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with the owner Kenneth today. Unfortunate because my in laws got stranded but a pleasure because Kenneth was absolutely amazing. My in laws were 3 hrs from home when they got stranded on the river and the loving children we are were scrambling first thing Saturday morning to find them help. Kenneth was quick and on top of getting their location to get them help. Being that they've been stuck there since last night Mr Kenneth was also quick to ask if they had food and water and needed any supplies. When things where then sorted out and a different company was on the way Mr Kenneth understood and was still very worried about my inlaws getting proper supplies and help. Though we didn't get to use his service I 10/10 recommend due to customer service.

Lesson number 1: Don’t ever put anything in your name for a family member. For 3.5yrs I have stared at an old boat in the yard that said family member finally gave away for free. Sounds great, right? Not when you are sitting at work and see on your cameras that said boat has suddenly reappeared in your front yard. Family member back in their home state, boat now in my front yard…panic attack. Several in fact. The boat was no longer in any kind of donation condition and this isn’t as easy to get rid of as a car or motorcycle which have junk yards. After panic searching and secretly crying in the bathroom at work (several times), I came across AAA Boat Salvage. I reached out for a quote and Kenneth got back to me super fast. He searched my address and let me know he could remove it the next day. He told me what to expect, they sent over paperwork for me to sign, and we confirmed an ETA for the next day. Kenneth kept me posted as he was coming from 2hrs away and I was able to coordinate with work to be home to meet him. He quickly connected the boat, was very professional and while he was prepping for safe transport he had me connect with the office for payment of removal services and my final copies of the necessary documents releasing me from ownership and liability of the boat. I feel much better knowing they will properly strip down the boat and dispose of it correctly and in accordance with environmental laws. It is painful to have to pay to dispose of a old vessel that was never meant to be my problem, but giving away something for free doesn’t mean someone will responsibly remove you from ownership and liability (or won’t dump it back in your yard at a future date like me). The nightmares of this eyesore are over, and Kenneth and the office team kept me sane and made this so easy for me .I am more than happy to recommend them!

Recovery for fully and partially submerged boats

A submerged hull at a marina, a capsized boat and a storm-displaced vessel can require different recovery work. Tell us what remains visible, where the boat rests and whether its position is changing.

Sunk beside a dock or marina slip

Give the facility, dock or slip identifier and a site contact. Wide photographs can show nearby boats, pilings and the available working space.

Partially submerged or listing

Describe the boat’s current position and what has changed. A boat does not have to be fully underwater before you contact us about a recovery assessment.

Capsized or storm-displaced

Provide the latest confirmed position rather than only the former berth. Explain any visible hull damage and whether separated vessel material is involved.

River, lake or canal recovery

Identify the actual waterbody and vessel position. Include shore-access information; a nearby public launch is a reference point, not confirmed equipment access.

Emergency Marine Salvage & Boat Removal

If a boat is sinking further, shifting or creating an urgent obstruction, call 888-702-5785 with its location and the latest observations. We assess the request and discuss current crew and equipment availability. Response timing must be confirmed for the situation.

Call for Emergency Boat Recovery

Recover the boat, or recover and dispose of it

Make the intended outcome clear at the start. Recovery does not automatically mean disposal, and recovering a boat does not establish whether it can be repaired or used again.

Recovery for further assessment

If you intend to retain the vessel, explain that before the estimate is prepared. Confirm the recovery end point and what should happen next.

Recovery with paid disposal

If the boat is no longer wanted, request recovery and disposal together. Clarify which vessel-related items are included and which tasks are outside the scope.

How a sunken boat recovery request works

1. Share the current situation

Provide the exact position, approximate boat dimensions and recent photographs if available. Explain whether the hull is fully submerged, partly visible or overturned.

2. Review access and assessment needs

We discuss the vessel condition, working area and the contacts who can authorize the work and arrange access. Additional information or a site assessment may be needed.

3. Agree on the scope and estimate

Confirm recovery-only or recovery with disposal, the intended end point, exclusions and any facility arrangements before scheduling.

4. Complete the agreed recovery work

The work follows the agreed scope. Discuss any completion photographs or records you need when arranging the job so expectations are clear.

Useful details for your first call

You do not need to know every technical detail to begin. Tell us what is known and what is uncertain so we can explain what additional assessment is needed.

  • Exact boat location: marina, slip, dock, property address or a map pin.
  • Boat type and approximate length; include width if known.
  • Current condition and how much of the hull is visible.
  • Water depth if already known, plus when the boat was last observed.
  • Wide photographs of the surrounding area and shore access.
  • Owner or authorized representative and the person controlling site access.
  • Whether the recovered boat will be retained or disposed of.

What affects sunken boat recovery cost?

There is no single price that fits every submerged boat. The estimate depends on the actual vessel and work site. Recovery, removal and disposal are paid services.

Vessel size and condition

Dimensions, hull damage and how the vessel is positioned help define the assessment and recovery requirements.

Depth, location and access

The current position, available working area and shore or facility access affect how the work can be planned.

The requested end point

Recovery alone and recovery followed by disposal are different scopes. Identify associated vessel material and any completion records requested.

Ask what the estimate includes, what is excluded and which changes would require a revised scope. Confirm facility arrangements separately rather than assuming they are part of the recovery price.

Sunken boat recovery questions

Who provides sunken boat recovery in Florida?

AAA Boat Salvage provides sunken boat recovery, marine salvage and emergency boat removal assessments throughout Florida. Call 888-702-5785 with the vessel’s current location and condition.

Can you recover a boat that is only partially submerged?

Yes, you can request an assessment for a partly submerged or listing vessel. Describe what is visible, its position and any recent changes.

Can you assess a boat sunk at a private dock or marina?

Yes. Give the dock or slip identifier and site contact. Describe surrounding structures, nearby vessels and available shore access.

What if I do not know the water depth?

Say that it is unknown. Share the exact location, approximate vessel dimensions and photographs available so the team can discuss assessment needs.

How quickly can emergency marine salvage be arranged?

Call with the current situation so availability and assessment requirements can be discussed. Timing depends on the vessel, access, conditions and available crew and equipment; an arrival time must be confirmed.

Can you recover the boat without disposing of it?

Yes. State that you intend to retain it for further assessment. Confirm the recovery end point and any later disposal work separately.

Can recovery and paid junk boat disposal be included together?

Yes. Explain that you want the vessel disposed of after recovery. Ask the estimate to identify the included stages and associated vessel items.

Does recovering the boat mean it will run again?

No. Recovery does not establish that a boat is repairable or ready for use. If you plan to keep it, arrange the appropriate condition assessment separately.

Can a marina manager or property manager start the request?

Yes. A manager can provide site information, but identify who is authorized to approve vessel recovery and disposal. Access permission and vessel authorization should both be clear.

What if the boat appears abandoned?

Explain your relationship to the vessel or property and what authorization information is available. Do not assume that an apparently abandoned boat can be disposed of without confirming authority.

Can I request photographs or records of the completed work?

Ask when arranging the job. Confirm the records included in the agreed scope and who should receive them.

Can you coordinate recovery if I am away from Florida?

Yes. We can coordinate with you remotely and a local marina or property contact. Identify who can authorize recovery and disposal, and who can arrange access. Discuss any completion records when agreeing to the work.

Will insurance cover sunken boat recovery?

Coverage and payment depend on your policy and insurer. Share the adjuster contact and requested records when arranging the job, and confirm approval and payment with your insurer.

Do you provide towing, transport or boat purchasing?

No. We do not provide boat towing or transport, buy or sell boats, or buy or sell parts. Our services are paid marine salvage, boat recovery, removal and disposal.
